Token Boards

A Token Board turns a reward into something the person can see and work toward. Set a goal and pick the reward. Tokens get earned, circles get filled, and when they're all full a celebration plays. Reach for one when a reward should feel earned rather than handed over.

What it is

A Token Board is a token economy you can tap. It has a named goal, a reward, and a set of circles, anywhere from 3 to 20. As the person earns tokens, they tap circles to fill them. When every circle is full, a celebration plays and they get the reward.

Each board comes with one image: the reward. It's generated from the person's avatar so it looks made for them. There's no narration and no audio; the board is silent and interactive.

How it works

  1. Open the chat

    In the creation chat, ask for a token board. This is the main way to make one on both web and mobile.

  2. Give the goal, reward, and token count

    The assistant asks for the goal, the reward, and how many tokens to earn, which has to land between 3 and 20.

  3. Say yes to the summary

    You'll see a plain-text summary come back. Reply yes to create the board. If you want a change first, say so, for example "yes, but make the reward stickers," and the assistant re-summarizes before creating anything.

  4. Wait about a minute

    A spinner appears with one line: "Usually under a minute." A board is a single picture with no steps in between, so there's no progress bar and no stop control.

  5. Go straight to the board

    There's no preview card, no confirm button, and no review step. The board opens as soon as you confirm.

  6. Tap to add tokens

    Tap the next open circle to add a token. Tap a filled circle to take the count back down. A countdown shows how many are left to go.

  7. Reach the goal

    When every circle is full, a celebration plays. To start over, use Reset in the header.

Good to know

Token Boards are the one content type confirmed inside the conversation. Stories and Routines give you a preview card and a confirm button; Token Boards don't. When you reply yes to the summary, the board is created right away.

Plans and limits

Free
3 free creations shared across Stories, Routines, and Token Boards; each board uses one. Creations never reset, and deleting a board doesn't give one back.

Troubleshooting

What it does not do

  • You can't edit a board after it's created: no reordering, and no changing the goal, the reward text, or the token count. To make a change, delete the board and build a new one. The single exception is repair, not editing: a reward picture that never generated can be made afterward. A reward picture that is present and showing can't be replaced.
  • Tokens are always circles. Shape, color, and theme aren't configurable, so there's no visual customization.
  • No audio, and no narration.
  • No preview or review step, before or after creation.
  • No progress bar and no stop control while a board is being made.
  • There's no session history and no notes surface.
  • Boards can't be printed or exported to PDF. Sharing is by public link only.
  • A shared board saves no progress for visitors.
